Chief Moni emphasised the need for peace and stability in the region, urging those responsible for the defamation and blackmails against Tompolo and Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro, the administrator of the presidential Amnesty Programme to cease their unguided publications and defamation.
According to Moni, Tompolo’s singular effort in restoring peace in Niger Delta and influencing development to the region can’t be overemphasised.
He maintained that at a time the Niger Delta waterways were overwhelmed with pirates, and it made it so difficult to access the waterways as issues of kidnapping and sea piracy were prevalent, citing that Tompolo’s voluntary efforts against such criminal activities finally restored sanity to the entire waterways in the region.
While speaking further, he said all allegations purportedly filed against Tompolo by one alleged wandering and sick Jude Gbaboyor in his petition were false and malicious, adding that it should be disregarded.
While appealing to stakeholders to call Gbaboyor to order, Moni said the so-called Gbaboyor is an attention seeker, noting that his antics to intimidate and cow political office holders for personal gains were uncovered.
