Mulade Felicitates Chief Dr. Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark At 97

A leading environmental activist and peace advocate, Chief Sheriff Mulade, has extended warm felicitations to Senator Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark on his 97th birthday. Mulade hailed Clark as a living legend, mentor, and a dependable voice in the Niger Delta region and Nigeria as a whole.
The Ibe-Serimowei of ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West, Delta State, acknowledged Clark’s pivotal role in promoting peace in the Southern region, stating that without his efforts, the Niger Delta would still be in turmoil. Mulade described Clark as an indomitable lion of Niger Delta, whose determination, dedication, and selfless sacrifices in advocating for the region’s emancipation are unparalleled.
Born on May 25, 1927, Clark is a Nigerian elder statesman, Ijaw National Leader, and politician from Delta State. He served under military governor Samuel Ogbemudia and head of state General Yakubu Gowon between 1966 and 1975. Later, he became an unofficial advisor to former President Goodluck Jonathan. Clark is a philanthropist who founded the Edwin Clark Foundation and the prestigious Edwin Clark University in his hometown in Burutu local government area, Delta State. He is a father figure to many and a champion of development in the Niger Delta region.
