NDDC: Forensic audit report is useless with Akpabio not captured among looters -Ozobo,IPDI

•Insists Buhari must inaugurate NDDC board now to avoid fresh hostilities

Foremost Niger Delta intellectual agitator, Comrade Ozobo Austin has said that the none inclusion of senator Godswill Akpabio as one of the looters of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has rendered the forensic audit report useless.

The Niger Delta opinion leader said Akpabio held sway NDDC while he was senator, governor of Akwa-Ibom state and now minister of Niger Delta affairs.

Ozobo who doubled as the National president of the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI, maintained that Akpabio can’t be exonerated by the forensic audit report when he has mismanaged hundreds of billions of naira without a single project executed for a period under three interim administrators.

He queried how Akpabio could be vindicated by the forensic audit report when he is yet to give account of billions syphoned under his watch. He added that the forensic audit report is a scam, having not comprehensively captured Akpabio and his cohorts as part of the looters of NDDC.

The activist, asserted that the failure by president Muhammadu Buhari to inaugurate the NDDC substantive board upon the completion of the audit report also had made the audit report questionable.

He argued that Akpabio’s name was political and tactical removed from the list of looters, noting that such a action showed that the forensic report was controversial and inconclusive.

Ozobo reiterated, “no man can be a judge in his own case, but this was the first time in history where a man became a judge in his own case.

“It is a great disservice to Niger Delta citizens that Akpabio who have involved in draining NDDC was made to spare head an audit that should have indicted him.

“I am not trying to exonerate other looters but Akpabio can’t be exempted from the NDDC loots with the latest developments in the Commission,” he explained.

“There is no doubt about our strong support for the audit and prosecution of looters, but we will continue to reject any doctored audit report, manipulated to exonerate Akpabio.

The activist, urged Buhari to throw the fraudulent document into dust bin and go ahead to inaugurate the substantive NDDC board before it generates fresh crisis in Niger Delta region.
