• Insists Ekerefe, IYC betrayed Ijaw nation

Niger Delta rights group, under the aegis of the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI, has rubbished the purported National Spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe for criticizing politicians, ministers and Niger Delta leaders for frustrating and delaying the inauguration of the NDDC Substantive Board, adding that IYC was part of the betrayal.

This was contained in a statement issued in Yenagoa to newsmen by its National Secretary, Comrade Keneware Emmanuel, on Monday.

The angry group added that Comr. Ekerefe, and his IYC who betrayed Ijaw nation at the Mother of All Protest do not have the moral justification to criticize Niger Delta politicians on the delay in the inauguration of the NDDC board.

IPDI stated that the IYC National Spokesman and its likes frustrated the Mother Of All Protests, aimed at drawing the attention of the Federal Government to constitute the NDDC substantive board.

According to the group, “Ekerefe should hide his face in shame for being part of the problem of the delay in inaugurating the NDDC substantive board for cashing out with the same problematic minister, Godswill Akpabio.

“Ekerefe and his cohorts are super hypocrites, chronic betrayers, morally bankrupt and fair weather self-styled youths, aiming to use the struggle to enrich themselves overnight.”

The dogged group, added that Ekerefe should hide his face in shame on the issues of NDDC substantive Board and even render an unreserved public apology to the entire Ijaw Youths for the disgraceful betrayal and negative portrait at the eve of the Mother of All Protests.

The statement read partly: “While we fully support and call on President Buhari to immediately constitute the substantive NDDC board, we wish to caution shameless youth leaders who have betrayed the struggle for personal aggrandizement, yet pretending to be saints to steer clear.”
