NDYFGG Condemns Planned Nov. 2 Protest Against PAP Administrator, Calls for Peace
By Chukwunonso Eric, Warri.
The National President of the Niger Delta Youths for Good Governance (NDYFGG), Comrade Lucky O.O. Ukueku, has condemned a planned November 2, 2026 protest against the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, urging stakeholders to maintain peace and channel grievances through appropriate authorities.
Ukueku, who is also the pioneer National President of PAP Scholarship Students Worldwide, made the call in Abuja while reacting to a social media flyer announcing a proposed protest by a group identified as the Coalition of Ex-Militant Leaders of the Niger Delta Region.
The organisers reportedly listed payment of the ₦65,000 monthly stipend, settlement of outstanding stipend arrears, reinstatement of camp slots and payment of other entitlements owed to PAP beneficiaries among their demands.
The group also called on beneficiaries of PAP Phases 1, 2 and 3 to remain united and peaceful ahead of a meeting scheduled to take place in the Federal Capital Territory.
Reacting, Ukueku dismissed the planned mobilisation as unnecessary and described the organisers as “faceless” individuals. He urged the public to disregard the protest, insisting that the PAP administration under Otuaro had made significant contributions to the programme.
The NDYFGG president commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and Otuaro for what he described as increased investment in the Amnesty Programme, particularly the expansion of scholarship opportunities for Niger Delta youths in Nigerian and foreign universities.
He argued that beneficiaries should recognise the educational opportunities provided under the programme and urged anyone with legitimate grievances to present them to the appropriate authorities rather than resorting to actions capable of disrupting public order.
Ukueku also alleged that some individuals behind the proposed protest were politically motivated and attempting to undermine the Federal Government and damage the reputation of the administration. He called on security agencies to remain vigilant while stressing the importance of maintaining peace in Abuja.
He further linked criticism of Otuaro and prominent Niger Delta figures supporting President Tinubu, including High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, High Chief Engr. Matthew Tonlagha and Dr. Kestin Pondi, to broader political opposition to the administration.
According to Ukueku, the current priority of the PAP leadership includes supporting efforts around President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign and sustaining development initiatives under the programme.
He urged anyone with complaints concerning PAP to submit verifiable evidence through appropriate channels, rather than engaging in confrontation or activities that could threaten public peace.
Ukueku maintained that dialogue, accountability and peaceful engagement should guide efforts to resolve any outstanding issues affecting PAP beneficiaries and the wider Niger Delta.
