PAP: Cancel Plans Protest, Ogidigba Appeals to Delegates, Says Problem Caused by Previous Administration
By Joseph Bienbo, Warri
The Leadership of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme has appealed to beneficiaries of the programme to call off the planned protest on the 2nd November, 2026.
In a statement signed by its national chairman, Gen Ogidigba Godstime Ogidigba appealed to those affected by the Data verification exercises, BVN and other issues to approach them with dialogue, and not protest, adding that the present administration listens to genuine complaints and have resolved many, maintaining that chief Dennis Otuaro administration equally inherited all the said problems from the past administration.
The statement said, “The attention of the Amnesty delegates forum has been drawn to a plain protest circulating on social media, against High Chief Dennis Otuaro PhD and the Amnesty office.
“We wish to use this medium to appeal to Amnesty leaders and delegates from phase 1,2&3 to abolish the planned protest schedule on the 2nd day of November 2026 in the nation’s capital Abuja, and toe the peace path.
“We advise those affected by the Data verification exercises, BVN and other issues to approach such with dialogue, and not protest, as the present administration listens to genuine complaints and have resolved many and that Chief Dennis Otuaro administration equally inherited all the said problems from past administration.
“There are leaders who are custodians of the presidential amnesty program and there are other prominent stakeholders in the Region who are capable of resolving these issues amicably.
“As we are heading to election season, note that the Niger Delta Region is the only peaceful region in Nigeria, therefore, we should not allow politicians to use us to create unnecessary tension in our region.
“On the issue of increasing the monthly stipends Chief Dennis Otuaro Is answerable to the president as such cannot on his own increase the Amnesty monthly stipends without approval from the presidency.
“On this basis I urge us to cancel the plan protest and support Chief Dennis Otuaro Reforms which have started yielding results and expanding the Amnesty program to accommodate more people from the Niger Delta Region”, the statement read.
