Workers in the legislature who have joined the ongoing labor union protests have closed the gates to the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

Remember that on Tuesday, the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, in defiance of a court order prohibiting them from doing so, declared a nationwide indefinite strike.

According to reports, the unions last week sent out a notice of a nationwide walkout in response to an attack on NLC President Joe Ajaero on November 1, 2023, in Imo State.

When people visited the National Assembly complex on Tuesday at 12:23 p.m., all of the gates were secured with locks.

Although, our correspondent reports that plenary is still in session in the House of Representatives at the time of this report, many workers were observed stuck at the National Assembly’s entrance.
