NYSC Held Improved Security in Zamfara, Plead for Permanent Camp

The Zamfara state coordinator of the National Youth Services Corp NYSC Muhammad Lawal called on Governor Lawal to provide a permanent orientation camp which will serve for promotion of skills acquisition.

Muhammad Lawal shown his appreciation for the improved security that grantee the NYSC activities couple with the improved welfare.

Muhammad Lawal made the call while speaking to journalists at Malan Yahaya Federal Secretariat Gusau.

The state coordinator Muhammad Lawal Ahmad, said the council remains dedicated to promoting mutual understanding among Nigerian youths and strengthening the bonds that unite the country’s diverse ethnic and cultural groups.

Lawal also reaffirmed the commitment the National Youth Service Council (NYSC) to fostering national unity, cultural integration, and community development, highlighting decades of impactful programmes that have transformed lives across Nigeria.

According to the council, one of its founding objectives is to encourage interaction among young Nigerians from different parts of the country, enabling them to appreciate the traditions, values, and cultures of their host communities while promoting peaceful coexistence and national cohesion.

“Over the years, the council has continued to achieve its noble objectives by creating opportunities for young people to learn from one another, build lasting relationships, and contribute meaningfully to national development,” Muhammad stated.

The state coordinator further said, beyond promoting cultural integration, NYSC has undertaken numerous community development projects aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens.

The council also revealed that its members have participated in the construction and rehabilitation of public infrastructure, including roads, public conveniences, libraries, educational facilities, and community centres in various parts of the country.

The organisation noted that these interventions have made significant contributions to local development and have directly benefited thousands of people in host communities.

“The initiatives have helped address basic healthcare needs in underserved communities while complementing government efforts in the sector. The coordinator said.

The council also highlighted its contributions to education through community-based programmes designed to support learning, youth empowerment, and human capital development.
