Warri NDC primary victory: Mulade Congratulates Pedro Bekenawei
By Osaro Michael, Benin
Renowned peace ambassador, development advocate, and environmentalist from Gbaramatu Kingdom, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, PhD, has congratulated Chief Pedro Tuwayerin Bekenawei on his emergence as the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Warri Federal Constituency.
Mulade expressed appreciation to the leadership of the NDC for providing a platform through which aspirants were able to pursue their political ambitions and contribute to the democratic process.
While acknowledging the party’s decision to set aside the outcome of its primary election and adopt a different selection process, he noted that political parties reserve the right to make decisions they consider to be in their best interest, emphasizing that party supremacy remains a fundamental principle in democratic politics.
According to him, “It is important to state that the pursuit of political office is not a do-or-die affair, and I am not a desperate seeker of public office.
My vision has always been to contribute meaningfully towards lasting ethnic harmony, sustainable development, and peaceful coexistence among the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo ethnic nationalities within the Warri Federal Constituency.”
He further stated, “I wish to use this opportunity to warmly congratulate my dear brother, Chief Pedro Tuwayerin Bekenawei, on his emergence as the NDC flag bearer for the Warri Federal Constituency. I wish him success, wisdom, and God’s guidance as he prepares for the task ahead.”
Mulade also expressed gratitude to his numerous supporters for their unwavering commitment, loyalty, and confidence in his leadership and aspirations.
The respected peace advocate stressed that despite cultural differences and competing interests among the various ethnic groups in the constituency, the future of Warri depends on collective efforts, mutual respect, unity of purpose, and a shared commitment to peace and development.
He concluded by appealing to members of the NDC and stakeholders across the Warri Federal Constituency to rally behind Chief Bekenawei and provide him with the necessary support to succeed.
