By Peters Monday, Abuja

Former footballer superstar, Sam Sodje has said that the governor of Delta State, His Excellency, RT. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has exhibited a quality leadership that is now envied by other governors in the country, especially in the area of recruitment of Youths into the different offices in the state since assumption of office.

This was contained in a statement signed by himself which a copy was sent to Congress News correspondent on Friday.

The statement noted, “Looking at the ages of the people that the governor has appointed to manage the different offices in the state, one can see clearly that there is truly a total departure from the status quo thus departing from the usual recruitment of the old guard and recyling of individuals in the governance of the state”.

It was learnt that the governor had consistently emphasised during his electioneering campaign that he was going to do things differently if elected as governor of our dear state.

“His Excellency actions so far has shown that he is ready to talk the talk and walk the walk in the governance of dear state.
From the age bracket of his appointed Commissioners and personnel appointed into the other critical offices in the state, we can see that truly that His Excellency did not have his plans in place before coming to office but he is actually determined to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of Deltans in the next four years.

“Looking at the various decisions that His Excellency has taken so for, one is bound to appreciate the fact that the governor means well for the state and all that he needs presently is the corporation and understanding of every Deltan in order to enable the governor deliver on the promises that he made to the people of Delta State  irrespective of political party’s affiliations, tribe and religion. Going forward, I applaud His Excellency for setting the pace by empowering the younger generation of Delta State in his appointments and thereby giving hope to the generality young Deltans.

*His Excellency should therefore be encouraged to continue on this line of thinking in his governance so as to make good things happen in the lives of Deltans in particular and Nigerians in general.

“The future of every society now belongs to the youths with sincere, honest and selfless advice from the older generation to enable our state to join the league of developed society internationally.

“Your Excellency, Deltans are hungry for good, purposeful leadership, the type that Your Excellency has started. I have no doubt in my mind from my conversations and discussions with you, and that you will surely take Delta State to higher and better level with meaningful development during your tenure in office as the governor of delta state.
With due respect to Papa  E.K. Clark, Your Excellency, our governor, you have started well. In fact, let me add that you have started very very well”, he added.
