Okowa’s aide, Ozobo pays tribute to Mamamu’s family

The Special Assistant to the governor of Delta state, Comrade Ozobo Austin has visited the home of the late Chief SY Mamamu to commiserate with the family.

Ozobo, while signing the condolence register said the Mamamu like others has done extremely well as regards promoting Ijaw movement.

The activist, lamented that Chief SY Mamamu died at a time his wealth of experience is highly need to solve myriad of problems challenging the Ijaw nation and Niger Delta at large.

The governor’s aide, asserted that during the MEND era ,his group, IPDI once met with Mamamu to introduce the body to him.

Ozobo narrated: “Mamamu was an exceptional gift, he was an encyclopedia of knowledge. He was a dependable authority. If you see load of books around him you will be amazed. When Warri was shaking, he played a vital role in the current peace in the state. He will never sit down and see Ijaw man being oppressed.

“However, we have lost a brand. We have lost a voice. We have lost a true Ijaw son who have done much in the freedom of Ijaw nation.

“He will be forever remembered, his good works and legacies will stand in sand of time” Ozobo wept.Meantime, he prayed God’s fortitude upon the bereaved families and assured them of Ijaw nation support for their father’s funeral rites.
