Omobayo resumes as Edo new deputy governor

The Edo Chief Justice, Daniel Okungbowa had just sworn in the newly appointed Deputy Governor of Edo State, Marvellous Omobayo

Congress news learnt that the newly appointed deputy governor is an engineer by profession with a track record in the oil and gas sector.

During his inaugural speech, Mr Omobayo commended his principal, Godwin Obaseki and the Peoples Democratic Party leadership, for finding him worthy of the appointment.

Omobayo said, “The oath of office l have just taken is my legal acceptance speech. It defines the legal limits that l can or cannot exceed while in office. Beyond this swearing in, it is important for me to say publicly my deepest appreciation to our highly respected Governor, His Excellency, Mr Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo state and our great party leadership, the Peoples Democratic Party.

“After all the very painful and thought-provoking distractions of the past few months, our governor is determined to finish his second term very strong. It is clear that he is very determined and resolute to willed a legacy of peace, unity and visible progress in Edo State”.

“A legacy that the next Governor will find exciting to proudly build upon and consider in the leadership position in Edo State which had achieved over time”.

“He is a B.Eng Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MSc in Public Administration from the University of Benin, he is a round peg in a round hole and an expert in public administration”.

“He is a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria”.

“A pedegreed young professional, he serves as a Senior Maintenance Engineer in Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited, cutting across his seasoned hands in the operations of the South-South area, providing top-notch services and growing the business in the region”.

“He has played prominent roles in his local government area, building bridges of trust with his people and conscientized them for common fronts and breaking unprecedented political barriers to the chagrin of his foes”.
