OPFY Troops Nueturalises Bandits in Zamfara and Katsina

The Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralised three terrorists during a fighting patrol in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State after a gun battle at Dumburum village.
The sector 2 command of the (OPFY) Operation Fansan Yamma media information officer Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja said, the weapons and ammunition recovered included one AK-47 rifle, one SK-21 A1 machine gun, one locally made handgun, multiple magazines, and large quantities of 7.62mm, 12.7mm, and NATO rounds.
“No casualties were recorded among the troops, while clearance operations and pursuit of fleeing terrorists continued across the area. Danja said.
“In the early hours of Thursday, 7 May 2026, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, embarked on a fighting patrol to Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas of Zamfara State with the aim of denying terrorists freedom of action within the general area. The information officer said.
Lt. Col. Aliyu said, the terrorist gang came into contact with the Bandits during an operation aimed of with armed terrorists at Doumbourum Village, where a fierce firefight ensued.
According to him, the gallant troops overwhelmed the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing the criminals to flee in disarray after suffering significant casualties.
“3 neutralized terrorists recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, including one AK-47 rifle, one machine gun, one locally fabricated handgun, 7 rifle magazines and a total of 571 rounds of ammunition. Importantly, no casualty was recorded among the troops during the operation. The statement read.
According to the Nigerian Army social media platform said, The month of May is not looking good for Bandits terrorists in Dutsinma and Kankara LGA of Katsina State.
