Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo has officially announced his ambition to run for Nigeria president come 2023, despite pressure on him from Tinubu’s camp not to contest.

Osinbajo did the declaration under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abuja during the weekend.

Congress reports that about 12 APC governors out of the 23 were present at the declaration meeting.

Among the governors who were present include: Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Babagana Zulum (Borno) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos).

However, the VP reportedly invited all the governors under the APC to the meeting where 12 out of 23 turn up.

It was learnt he invited the entire governors to seek their support ahead of the primaries.
However, the Vice-President had also informed President Buhari of his intention to contest.

Though, the official declaration has been slated on Monday (today), according to source.
