Outrage as DPO dies in office

The Divisional Police Officer of Jahun Local Government Area, Jigawa State, SP Abubakar Musa has slumped and died in his office.

DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adamu, the Spokesman of the State police command, confirmed the death in a statement released to newsmen on Saturday.

According to the police spokesman, the incident occurred on Friday night around 9:00 pm in the DPO’s Jahun Division office after a protracted illness.

He asserted, “SP. Abubakar Musa died yesterday around 9:00pm while closing from his official duty.”

The police stated that the deceased was rushed to the Jahun General Hospital and Rashid Shekoni General Hospital and was later moved to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

However, the State Commissioner of Police, CP. Emmanuel Ekot Effiom consoled the deceased’s family and the Nigeria Police Force over the sudden death.
