Pandemonium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital as governor Wike Nyesom has sealed off the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku’s Campaign Office during the weekend.

Congress gathered that the Rivers State government had locked the campaign office of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Atiku Abubakar on account that the office was illegally acquired.

This was disclosed to newsmen by the Rivers State People Democratic Party presidential campaign council.

The Council said that the office which is located in GRA Port Harcourt was locked today 23rd December 2022, with the claim that the office was producing noise pollution as a result of political activities in the residential areas without approval from the State government.

The PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers also added that it had written an application letter for the office to be opened and used for its political activities but the letter was ignored until Friday when the office was finally locked.

The PDP Presidential Campaign Council partly wrote: “We condemn this act because it rubs off on our fundamental right to free expression of interest. Furthermore, this egregious move by the Rivers State Government, seen through the prism of politics, tends to militarise our democracy and renders our dear state politically recessive when juxtaposed with other states in the country. We must remind Governor Wike and his co-travelers that they, like everyone else, are subject to the Laws of Nigeria.
