The Special Assistant to the Delta state governor on political matters, Comrade Ozobo Austin has appreciated His excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa over the ongoing upgrade of Delta state school of marine Technology, Burutu.

It would be recalled that the students of the school had protested in Asaba in the penultimate week over the poor state of the school.

Among the requests of the students were upgrade and transfer of the school to the ministry of education.

The students also narrated that some of the faculties and departments have not been accredited, adding that such has lower the status of the school.

The State Information Commissioner, Charles Aniagwu on Wednesday November 17, 2021, has disclosed that the State Exco had approved the transfer of the School of Marine Technology, Burutu, from the Ministry of Transport to that of Higher Education.

However, the Okowa’s aide asserted that the governor has won more confidence of Deltans to himself by this swift response to the plight of the school.

According to him: “Governor Okowa is a listening governor that has the people at heart. I applaud him. He has done extremely well and we are glad”.
