PAP: Delegates Forum Alleges “Corruption Fighting Back” As Otuaro Sanitizes Amnesty Program, Faults Planned Protest

The leadership of the Amnesty Delegates Forum has raised alarm over a planned protest by some Niger Delta youths, alleging that it is being sponsored by individuals whose fraudulent dealings in the Presidential Amnesty Program, PAP, are being blocked by the current administration.

In a statement signed by Gen. Ogidigba Godstime Ogidigba, the Forum called the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Inspector General of Police, and the Director General of the Department of State Services to the planned protest scheduled for August 24, 2024 along the East-West Road, Imbiama Axis.

According to the Forum, the sponsors and masterminds of the protest are persons who, over the years, allegedly benefitted from the Amnesty office through irregular practices.

“These include bulk payments to single accounts, multiple accounts linked to one BVN, and fake contracts for supplies, training, and empowerment programs,” the statement alleged.

The Forum further stated that the said individuals had approached the current Administrator of the PAP, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, PhD, to continue with the “old order,” but he refused.

“Because he refused, they are now mobilizing youths for blackmail, a campaign of calumny, negative publications, and a protest to demand his removal from the Amnesty office,” the Forum claimed.

Describing the development as “corruption fighting back,” the group said Dr. Otuaro is currently sanitizing the Amnesty Program and blocking leakages that existed in the past.

The Forum therefore urged all relevant security agencies and the general public to take note and take necessary action ahead of the planned protest on August 24, 2024, to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
