PDP leader, driver abducted in Edo

A political leader and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) in Edo State, Chief Dickson Imasogie and his driver has been whisked away by yet to be identified gunmen on Monday.

The victims were reportedly abducted from the farm in Obada along Benin-Agbor road in Uhumwonde Local Government Area at about 7am on Monday.

Congress reports that the gunmen shoot-at-sight to scare away passers-by before abducting the PDP chieftain and his driver.

A dependable source said: “Chief Imasogie was kidnapped in his farm around Obada area in Uhunmwonde LGA of Edo State. He was with his driver, whose name could not be ascertained, when the incident happened.”

Efforts to reach Edo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bello Kontongs, a Superintendent of Police (SP), were not successful as his mobile line remained unavailable.
