PDP PRIMARY: Takeme Emerges as Chairmanship Candidate for Burutu LGA

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held its local government chairmanship party primaries in Burutu town on May 25, 2024, and Chief Julius Takeme, the immediate past chairman of the Delta South Senatorial district, emerged as the chairmanship candidate for the upcoming local government elections.
In a show of unity, 21 PDP aspirants stepped down to pave the way for Chief Takeme’s emergence. The former speaker of the Burutu legislative arm, Hon. Joseph Alubeze, explained that the aspirants collectively agreed to support Chief Takeme due to his unwavering commitment to the party and his proven track record of hard work and contributions to the party’s advancement.
Chief Emmanuel Agbaduba, the immediate past Commissioner of Oil and Gas, moved a motion to adopt Chief Takeme as the party’s candidate in the July 14th local government elections, which was seconded by Mr. Emmanuel Akpule, an ex-official of the party in Delta South Senatorial District.
The primary was supervised by Mr. John Bright from the PDP State Office in Asaba and witnessed by a representative of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), Madam Obiolo Grace, as well as security personnel, party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters.
The peaceful resolution and support of the 21 aspirants for Chief Takeme demonstrated a sense of solidarity and shared vision within the party.
