Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has joined the ongoing protests against economic hardship in Nigeria. In a video circulating online, Obi is seen addressing the protesters, encouraging them to remain peaceful and within the legal framework.

Obi, who was the 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate, has expressed his support for the protests, citing the Nigerian Constitution’s guarantee of the right to peaceful demonstrations. He emphasized the need for constructive solutions to address the grievances of the protesters, driven by hunger and hopelessness among the youth.

The former governor called on Nigerian authorities to engage with the protesters and listen to their concerns, stressing the importance of finding solutions within the legal framework.

This development comes as protests continue to spread across the country, with various groups and individuals joining the call for an end to bad governance and economic hardship.
