Abuja, Nigeria – Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has appealed to protesters demonstrating against the President Bola Tinubu administration to engage in dialogue with the government.

Speaking on Thursday during the presentation of staff of office to four newly appointed chiefs in the territory, Wike emphasized the government’s willingness to listen to the protesters’ concerns and address governance issues they may not be aware of.

Wike commended protesters in the FCT for their nonviolent approach, encouraging them to continue resisting destructive elements that could harm the nation. He stressed the importance of Abuja, the nation’s capital, as a precious asset, warning that its destruction would have far-reaching negative consequences for the entire country.

This call for dialogue comes as protests continue to spread across the country, with demonstrators demanding an end to economic hardship and bad governance. The government’s willingness to engage in dialogue may be a step towards addressing the protesters’ grievances and finding a peaceful resolution.
