Kano, Nigeria – A peaceful protest in Kano has turned violent, with reports of protesters breaking into shops and looting goods. The situation has escalated, with hoodlums hijacking the protest and vandalizing properties.

According to eyewitnesses, security operatives have arrested some of the looters and recovered stolen items, but the situation remains tense. The Digital Innovation Park in Kano, which was scheduled to be launched next week, was set ablaze and looted by protesters, with millions of naira in damages.

To restore order and prevent further violence, a 24-hour curfew has been imposed in Kano. The authorities are working to bring the situation under control and ensure public safety.

This incident highlights the challenges of maintaining peaceful protests and the need for effective crowd control measures to prevent violence and looting.
