It is the end of the road as men of Ogun State Police command apprehended three members of a robbery gang who invaded a phone market in the Abeokuta area of the state.

It was reported that the suspects invaded a popular phone market on April 12, 2023, where they carted away several phones and killed one trader.

In a statement by Ogun State Police Command Public Relation Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, he emphasized that the suspects, Ajayi Kayode, Habeeb Idowu, and Temitayi Oresanya were nabbed following a credible report received by the policemen attached to Kemta divisional headquarters.

Oyeyemi stressed that the suspects have been hiding at Abuke Ake Area of Kemta to run from police arrest.

Having the credible report, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle mobilized other police officers to the scene where they were apprehended.

During interrogation, two out of the suspects affirmed that they participated in the robbery incident, while the third suspect, Temitayo Oresanya stated that he was a member of a cult group, but didn’t participate in the robbery.

However, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Yemi has directed the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

CP Olanrewaju added that other members of the gang will be apprehended soon.
