Police Arrest Alleged Fraudster Who lmpersonates Delta State Secretary

In response to a number of complaints received from victims about a suspected fraudster posing as the secretary to the State government of Delta State and offering them jobs in the State, the Delta State Police Command has successfully arrested one Samson Ibiloma, a member of the syndicate that specialised in impersonating high-ranking government officials in the state.

Congress gathered that the syndicate had been tricking gullible people looking for jobs worth millions of Naira for a very long time by using the alias of Hon. Kingsley Emu, the Secretary to the Delta State Government.

This is according to a statement signed by the state police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe on Tuesday.

The statement reads, “Being a man of zero tolerance for deception and other criminal vices, Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Wale Abass detailed members of the Command’s DECOY Squad and ordered that every effort be made to ensure a thorough investigation into the matter.

“Armed with technically generated intelligence, Commander CP-DECOY ASP Julius Robinson stormed Walter Odili Area by Enerhen Junction in Warri on January 11, 2023, and arrested the aforementioned Samson Ibiloma, a 52-year-old resident of Dekina LGA in Kogi State.

According to the spokesman, the suspect admitted to pretending to be a well-known and powerful government official. He went on to say that he had already conned his victims out of over Ten Million Naira (#10,000,000).

The suspects also admitted that Stephen Odeemero, who they claimed was the mastermind of the crime, is the leader of the syndicate. The suspect is under arrest, and efforts are underway to apprehend the gang’s other fugitives.

However, Residents are cautioned by the Commissioner of Police of the Delta State, CP Wale Abass, to be cautious of con artists searching for victims on the internet.

Residents who have been duped by them are urged to visit the PPRO office or the command headquarters, according to the Commissioner of Police.

The public reassured by CP Wale Abass that the Command would keep up its good work and guarantee the security and well-being of all State citizens, especially during this hectic time of year.

He further exhorted the law-abiding public to call the Command Control Room at (08036684974; 08125958005; 09053872287) or to report any criminal activity to the closest police station. “As an alternative, anonymous tips can be sent to the PPRO Office at 09155570008 or 0955555570007, and you can be sure that the command will respond quickly”.
