Police Arrest Notorious Kidnapper, Recover Deadly Firearms In Delta

The Commissioner of police, Mr Abaniwonda Olufemi had recently deployed a special intelligent squad to Ughelli North LGA, leading to the arrest of over nine suspected kidnappers and the recovery of deadly firearms.

According to a press statement issued and signed by Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, Asaba on 20th May 2024, said the police stormed Inene Community and searched one dreaded Kidnapper known as Joel Joseph, who is a native of Ekakpamre Community in Ughelli North LGA Delta State.

Meanwhile, the high profiled kidnapper ran for escaped root upon sighting the police squad and opened fire on the operatives and in the ensuing gun duel, the Kidnapper sustained serious gunshot injuries and was taken to the General Hospital Ughelli where he died while receiving treatment but One AK47 Rifle loaded with ten (10) rounds of Live Ammunition were recovered.

In a related development, the operation Save Delta squad was deployed to Head-Bridge at Asaba while on stop and search duty, the squad intercepted one Mr Friday Emmanuel a 43yrs old male with a white Toyota Hiace Bus (REG. NO: AYB573XC), the suspect is from Morsogar, Ethiope-West LGA, while police were carrying out search ,they discovered eight Hundred and seventy-five rounds of Live Cartridges concealed in a sack and wrapped with pieces of clothes inside the car.The suspect was arrested for further investigation, and the exhibit are currently under police custody.

The Commissioner of Police on his remark said, “a great achievement was made through these timely proactive measures that was carried out and vowed to expand the police outreach in creating a safe and secured environment by curbing criminality in communities.
