Police Arrest Suspected Phone Robbers In Delta

CP Abaniwonda Olufemi said that the command will continue to relentlessly disrupt criminal networks and their activities in the state.

 

According to a press statement signed by the police public relations officer, FIPMD, ANIPR, FCIA Edafe Bright, On 25th March 2024, one Ezeugwu Akanso ‘m’ reported at ‘A’ division Asaba.

 

According to the victim, he boarded a commercial tricycle with Reg no. GWK 758 VC with Delta State code no. 12335B at Konwea Plaza Nnebisi Road to Okpanam Road Asaba, but before he alighted from the commercial tricycle, he started sensing that his phone had been stolen from his pocket, he immediately raised alarm at once which prompted sympathisers to join him and chase after the suspects and they were finally apprehended.

 

The police said one of the suspects, Collins Akpinoba age 27yrs conspired with one David Paulson age 38yrs, they were handed over to the Police at once.

 

Preliminary investigation also revealed that both suspects specialised in robbing innocent passengers and some of the victims had identified them.

Investigation is still ongoing.

“In a similar development, the Anti-Crime patrol team of Agbor division while on stop and search, intercepted one John Chikwuji age 25yrs a native of Ekuku going from Agbor to Ekuku-Agbor community.

 

“When the suspect were subjected to a search, one Beretta pistol was discovered. Investigation is ongoing.

 

The Commissioner of police, Mr Abaniwonda reiterated that fighting criminality is the primary goal of the Command. He also warns all criminals to refrain from illegal activities and if cut in any criminal act, they will face the full rot of the law.

 

He further assured the command to making effort in addressing the severe societal challenges and detrimental impacts of violent crimes.
