Police kill bandit, recover AK-47 rifle, ammunition in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has killed one suspected terrorist during an attack on Magama “Nipping Point” along Jibia-Katsina Road.

It was learned several of the terrorists fled with varying degrees of gunshot wounds during the attack on the police.

According to the report, One AK-47 rifle and four magazines containing 90 rounds of 7.62mm bullets, money, and other exhibits were recovered from the assailants.

The spokesman of the Katsina Police Command, SP Isah Gambo, who briefed reporters in a press statement on Monday noted that two of its officers were injured in the attack by the assailants.

Gambo further said the hoodlums who staged the attack around 4:30 am on Monday were in large numbers but were subdued by its operatives after a fierce gun duel.

SP Gambo also noted in the statement that search parties are still combing the area for the terrorists.
