A 47-year-old Nigerian police inspector, simply identified as Gbenga Fajuyi, has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for impregnating his 13-year-old daughter and killing her newborn baby.

During a court hearing at the Senior Magistrate Court in Minna, Niger state, Gbenag was found guilty of the charges against him and to be sentenced to years imprisonment.

According to the first police report, marked SMC/CR/06/2023 stated that the officer committed the crime in the year 2019, in the Ungwan Nasarawa area of Tafa Local Government.

It was reported that he lured his biological daughter, an SS1 student of Government Day Secondary School Sabon Wuse, into his room and forcefully had sex with her.

Following the sad incident between the father and daughter, she was pregnant and delivered a baby girl.

However, during a police Investigation, Gbenga Fajuyi confessed that after his daughter delivered the baby, he took the newborn baby to a nearby river and strangled the baby to death.

Delivering judgement, the court senior Magistrate Christy Barau, described the convict as a monster.

She, however, sentenced him to 22 years in prison, without the option of a fine.
