Premiership Star Sam Sodje Seeks Royal Support For Sport Development In Delta

Former premiership superstar, Sam Sodje, has asked for royal support for sports development and life after sports in Delta State.

Sam stated this during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Orodje of Okpe kingdom, HRM Orhue I, Felix Mujakperuo.

He maintained that the sports initiative would be able to support and create more avenue for the youths and retired professionals at getting more chances and more employments opportunities.

“Sam Sodje “Life After Sports” initiative is specially targeted at areas that can be made available for the benefits of ex-professional sportsmen and women in order to enable them to sustain their lives after years of meritorious service to the nation in their different active sporting careers, part of the statement reads.

“This ongoing position can not be allowed to continue and can only be changed by the engagement of ex-professional sportsmen and women so as to ensure the continued growth of the sector and protection of retired professional sportsmen and women, while at the same time putting in place the required infrastructures for the development of our youths who are interested in taking up sports as their profession going forward.

“The sports sector is one of the major sectors that is now used in addressing youth’s restiveness, income and employment generation across the world thus, all efforts must be put in place so as to take advantage of the benefits associated with a developed sports sector”, it added.

Howe, Sam Sodje expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the traditional ruler for graciously opening the doors of the palace to welcome him and the hospitality showed to him by the royal father not only for making time out to receive him but also for the royal father words of encouragement.

However, Sam Sodge feels very elated and more determined to continue with the “Life After Sports” initiative for the benefit of Deltans in particular and Nigerian sportsmen and women in general specially after receiving this very important royal blessings.
