President Tinubu Pays Tribute To Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Describes Him As a ‘Brother In Purpose’

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a glowing birthday tribute to elder statesman, veteran journalist, and former Ogun State Governor, Aremo Chief Olusegun Osoba, describing him as “a brother in purpose” whose life has been defined by service, integrity, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria.

The tribute was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in which President Tinubu reflected on his decades-long friendship with Chief Osoba, saying they entered public life through different paths but were united by the belief that Nigeria could be governed with competence, respect for institutions, and a steadfast commitment to the welfare of its citizens.

President Tinubu praised Chief Osoba’s distinguished career as a journalist and political leader, noting his dedication to mentoring young reporters, promoting responsible journalism, and ensuring that public policies always reflected the needs and aspirations of ordinary Nigerians.

The President also commended Chief Osoba’s calm disposition, wisdom, and ability to provide perspective during difficult moments, describing him as a dependable ally whose historical insights and counsel have guided many important decisions over the years.

Highlighting Chief Osoba’s consistency and exemplary character, President Tinubu said the former Governor remains the same in both public and private life, valuing courtesy, family, and principled disagreements while maintaining mutual respect.

President Tinubu wished the elder statesman continued good health, peace, and many more years of service, expressing hope that the ideals they have championed together including quality education, durable infrastructure, and accountable governance would continue to flourish.
