Centre for Human Rights and Anti Corruption Crusade, has condemned unwarranted protests against the renewal of the pipeline surveillance contract of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tomopolo.

This is according to a release signed by its BoT chairman, Ebikonbowei Alaowei, Esquire on Monday. He

Alaowei stated that he’s not surprised about the surge of protest and sheer invective against Tompolo and his security company, Tantita Security Service Nigeria Limited.

He maintained that many who held placards to protest against the renewal of the contract for Tompolo’s Tantita Security Service Nigeria Limited did not know the content of their protest.

The rights lawyer lamented that some of the protesters were from the Sahel region in the far desert area.

Part of the statement reads, “The big question is, how can someone who does not know crude oil productions, the terrain and the pipelines be talking about the successes or failures of a pipeline surveillance contract awarded to a private security firm?

“Thank God that the NNPCL who awarded the contract to Tantita Security Services Limited confirmed on several platforms that the intervention of Tompolo’s Company has increased the Nigerian daily oil productions to 1.6mbp which was barely 900mbp last year July before the award of the contract to Tompolo’s Tantita Security Services Limited.

“Tantita Security Services Limited successfully executed the contract to raise Nigeria’s daily productions to the present height and there is no breakdown of law and order,” it added.

However, he advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to close rank with the NNPCL to appraise the successes of Tantita Security Service Limited’s operation.
