Following the severe insults sent towards Governor Siminalayi Fubara by the state’s Chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike, a new political crisis appeared to be developing in Rivers State.

The council chairman called Fubara naive in a widely shared video that was uploaded on his official X handle while he was speaking to his fans at Omerelu Community.

According to a reliable source, Fubara and Nyesom Wike, his predecessor and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), had a fallout in 2023 over a struggle for dominance in the state.

Wike’s ally, the LG Chairman, claimed that since taking over as governor of the state on May 29, 2023, Fubara had accomplished nothing in his role.

“Today, Fubara is a foolish Governor; he’s not a’mumu’ Governor but a foolish Governor because since he took office on May 29th, he has done nothing for Rivers people,” the man declared. “Any day the likes of Chijioke sent by Fubara insults Wike, I’ll insult Fubara.”

Nwanosike went on to assert that Fubara “is very naive and doesn’t know what governance is all about,” and that the claim made by Wike that he intended to seize Rivers State is untrue. By now, if he understands the fundamentals of governance, he should have been to Rivers State by the regional administration.

“Go and look at Igirita roundabout by Igirita market by Eleka Road; deathtrap, can’t move. Kidnapping everywhere in Rivers State and you say you’re a Governor”.
