Russian forces shell Ukrainian evacuation convoy, killing 20 including children

Some twenty persons including 10 children have been killed in North-eastern Ukraine following a missile attack on an evacuation convoy on Saturday.

The families were leaving the Kupiansky district of Kharkiv when the missile struck the convoy, killing 10 children and other 10 occupants of the convoy.

The governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Syniehubov blamed Russian forces for war crimes over the attack on children and law-abiding citizens of Ukraine.

The governor said the city was among one the recaptured areas of the Ukrainian forces after its fall into the hands of the Russian troops.

Syniehubov, further stated that the 20 civilians killed were fleeing the city to avoid being hit by a Russian missile when the ill-fated incident occurred.
