By Peters Monday, Abuja
A prominent Niger Delta Rights activist and president Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI has urged Rivers and Ijaw youths of good conscience to come out en masse to defend the governor of the state, Sim Fubara on Saturday LG Polls.
Ozobo who stated this in a statement on Friday night said Rivers State is not a Coco farm of FCT minister, Wike Nyesom, adding that Rivers and Ijaw youths of good conscience will declare a showdown with Wike’s men on Saturday LG Polls in the state.
The statement stated, “I want to make myself explicit that as Rivers and Ijaw youths of good conscience owe Fubara a duty to protect and defend him. Don’t join strangers and enemies to fight or abandon him. He is Ijaw’s son, he has done nothing wrong to suffer this orchestrated backlash from the most greedy and heartless Wike. Ijaw people make Wike, no Ijaw man fight him even when he is disrespecting them.
“There is no ground for excuse, come out en masse and join Fubara to clampdown all anti-government forces. If we can we must stop them from working in the streets of Rivers State. If we can we must stop Wike from entering Rivers State Tomorrow.
“We will not also allow the police that have been compromised by the FCT minister to interfere with our political affairs tomorrow. We must decide our future in Rivers State tomorrow Saturday. The decision we make tomorrow will determine the direction we may go in the history of Rivers State.
“The Rivers LG Polls must be held whether the compromised Nigerian police like it or not. We have no reason to fail in our responsibilities as a people. We can’t continue to allow Wike to disgrace Fubara. Enough is enough!. Arise and take Rivers State fellow youths of good conscience!”.
