Senate Minority Leader: Abba Moro takes over

Abba Moro, a senator from the Benue South Senatorial District, was named Senate Minority Leader on Tuesday.

Moro, a two-term senator running on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform, was nominated and then confirmed by the opposition party in the red chamber.

After Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon of the Plateau North Senatorial District was ousted by the Appeal Court, he assumed the position.

The Minority Leader had previously been zoned to the North Central by the Senate. Despite being a new senator, Senator Mwadkwon was chosen by the minority caucus.

According to reports, the recently elected Minority Leader served as the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s interior minister.
