Student Kills Self After Losing Tuition Fee To Betting

As it is popularly said that human beings are the architects of their misfortunes, this line seems the case of Samuel Adegoke, a student of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun state, who reportedly killed himself after losing his tuition fees to online betting.

According to the report, Samuel killed himself by drinking some chemical substances after losing his fees and that of his friend to online betting.

It was alleged that Samuel used his tuition fee to play a bet online on Friday but lost.

Samuel, a National Diploma 2 student of the Electrical Electronic Engineering department, killed himself on Monday, May 22, when his colleagues were preparing for the first-semester exam.

It was gathered that Samuel, after losing his tuition fee to betting, also used the tuition fee of his friend who shared the same room with him and lost both

As is the rule of many schools, it was gathered that the higher institution had earlier warned students that no tuition fee, and no exam.

However, the incident was affirmed by the school Deputy Registrar, Public Relations, Sola Abiala, who stated that the school quickly referred him to a specialist hospital to save his life, but he was pronounced dead minutes after being admitted.

Abiala maintained that Samuel died on Monday morning while the exam was about to start.
