Suspected security operatives kill two tricycle passengers in Warri

Suspected security operatives escorting a convoy have killed two tricycle passengers in Ogbromo junction near Warri in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta state.

The incident reportedly occurred on yesterday at about 7:pm when the two passengers were fired and killed.

A source said the tricycle was trying to overtake the convoy when one suspected security official came down and eventually open fired and killed the occupants of the tricycle.

Though, the identity of the perpetrators and their motives were still unknown at the time of filling this report.

However, the situation is causing serious provocation and uproar among the residents in the area.

It was learnt that several human rights groups were preparing to petition the state police commissioner for extra-judicial killing of the two passengers.

When contacted, the police spokesman of Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe said the identity of the persons responsible for the killing is still unknown, adding that the police have launched investigation into the incident to unravel the perpetrators.
