Takeme Welcomes Delta First Lady to Burutu August 6, Invites Leaders, Stakeholders

The Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Chief Hon. Dr. Julius Takeme (JP), has officially welcomed the Wife of the Executive Governor of Delta State, H.E. Deaconess Mrs. Tobore Oborevwori, ahead of the humanitarian outreach of her pet project, the “You Matter Charity Foundation”, scheduled to live in Kiagbodo Town, Burutu Local Government Area, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

In a statement on behalf of the Government and the good people of Burutu Local Government Area, Chief Takeme described the forthcoming visit as a memorable occasion for Burutu Federal Constituency, noting that it underscores the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to reaching every part of Delta State with programmes that uplift lives and strengthen communities.

He added that the “You Matter Charity Foundation” has distinguished itself as a beacon of hope across the state through its sustained support for children with special needs, the empowerment of women, and its care for vulnerable groups, all driven by its inspiring motto, “Everybody is Somebody.”

“Her Excellency has touched countless lives through the You Matter Charity Foundation. Her passion for humanity, especially for the less privileged, has made the Foundation a symbol of hope for many Deltans. Burutu is delighted to be part of this remarkable journey of compassion and service,” Chief Takeme said.

The Chairman explained that the outreach is part of the Foundation’s ongoing visits to the Federal Constituencies in Delta State and noted that Burutu Federal Constituency, comprising only Burutu Local Government Area, is proud to host the initiative.

Chief Takeme further called on political office holders, APC party faithful, councillors, community leaders, the Queens of the Kings in Burutu Local Government Area, religious bodies, civil society organizations, youth and women groups, friends of Burutu Local Government Area, and all well meaning citizens, from the ward level to the Federal level, to gather at Kiagbodo Town to accord Her Excellency and the You Matter Charity Foundation team a colourful and befitting reception.

“I invite every stakeholder and every son and daughter of Burutu to be part of this historic event. Let us come together to honour Her Excellency and welcome her with the warmth, unity, and hospitality for which our people are widely known. Together, let us make this visit a memorable one,” he said.

Chief Takeme expressed optimism that the outreach would further deepen the Foundation’s impact in Burutu Federal Constituency while bringing hope, empowerment, and opportunities to many deserving beneficiaries.
