Tears as a couple, driver, 3 others die in a fatal road accident in Delta
About 6persons have been confirmed dead, including a husband, wife, driver and three others in a fatal road accident in Delta state on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred on Eku/Abraka road by Oha Secondary School in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
The accident reportedly involved an ash-coloured Lexus 330 with Registration number: TJK203HG(Lagos) and a dark green Toyota Picnic, a commercial vehicle with Registration number: KPE 778AA.
It was learnt that the over speeding Lexus 330 heading to Warri, which was allegedly driven by a suspected ‘Yahoo’ boy, rammed into the Toyota Picnic, a commercial vehicle with Registration number: KPE 778AA driving towards Abraka, the university community.
It was gathered that the full passengers, including the husband, wife and the driver of the commercial vehicle died, while the occupants of the Lexus 330 survived the crash.
The source said the driver was preparing for his father-in-law’s funeral when he died in the ill-fated incident.
When our reporter visited the scene, officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were seen evacuating the corpses, as the police were also on the ground to forestall law and order.
