Terror: Bandits kidnap DPO in Kaduna

The new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) deployed to Birnin Gwari division ‎has been allegedly abducted by bandits along the Kaduna-Birnin-Gwari highway.

This came on the heels of the disbandment of political activities by Ansaru group of terrorists in the area.

A community source hinted newsmen that the incident happened around 9 am on Monday when the DPO was on his way to Birnin Gwari to resume duty.

Congress gathered that the DPO was travelling alone in his vehicle when he was abducted.

According the source, the division spoke with him on his way to Birnin Gwari, noting: “From our own investigations, he (DPO) had not reported there.”

The report has it that all his mobile phone lines were not reachable since he embarked on the journey.

However, the State Police Command is yet to react to the incident at the time of filing this report.
