Tragedy as 17-year-old boy drowns in Delta

Tragedy in Owhase community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State as 17-year-old boy simply identified as Clinton drowned on Wednesday.

A community source told our reporter that the deceased and others went to a swamp around 12:pm on, July 26, to swim, unknown to their parents.

Congress gathered that the boy could not be found after a while when they were all playing at the swamp. But suddenly his colleagues raised alarm when he was suppected to have been drowned.

However, the residents who scampered at the incident rushed to the swamp to rescue the deceased but he was dead already at the time he was discovered.

It was learned that the deceased practically could not swim but had been constantly going to the river on his own to play without anyone accompanying him before the sad incident on July 26.
