Trouble as court set to hear N50m law suit against DLA director Ajaino, wife

An indigene of Delta State Mr. Oscar Desmond has slammed a N50m lawsuit against Delta state government official,Director General of Direct Labour Agency, Hon. Precious Ajaino and his wife Mrs. Betty Precious over alleged torture, unlawful arrest, detention on allegations of chatting with the wife of the honourable man on Facebook.

Oscar Andrew who hailed from Oghara community in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta state has instructed the law firm of Ogedegbe & Ogedegbe to file an application for the enforcement of his fundamental rights in Otu-Jeremi High Court, Delta state.

In the law suit filed by lawyer to Oscar is demanding N50m damages against the Director General of DLA, Hon. Precious Ajaino and his wife over what he described as torture, unlawful arrest and illegal detention and the case had been fixed for hearing at the High Court Otu-Jeremi, Delta state.

He insisted that Ajaino and his wife subjected him to all forms of inhuman treatments, after stripping him naked, tying him to a tree, tortured him before he was unlawfully arrested and detained over a trumped-up allegation of ‘toasting’ his wife.

Acccording to the suit, on the 9th day of February, 2022 Oscar Andrew was allegedly ambushed by Hon. Precious Ajaino and his wife in company of thugs loyal to them wherein he was beaten and stripped naked alongside the driver of the vehicle conveying him to Sapele with the entire windscreen of the Toyota Avensis shattered.

He narrated that he was thereafter taken to the youth Secretariat of Oghara after N800.000.00 naira was extracted from him by Hon. Ajaino. He was later handed over to the youths where the youths also extorted N400.000.00 naira from him before he was taken to the Oghara police station where he was detained.

Oscar also noted the said Hon. Ajaino only again wrote a petition against him to zone5 to ruffle him.

However, his ordeal started when he was accused of chatting and enticing (toasting) the wife of Hon. Ajaino on Facebook ,hence the DLA boss allegedly mobilized his boys and immediately proceeded to subject him to severe torture before handing him over to the police at Oghara.

The applicant had sued Hon. Precious Ajaino and Mrs. Precious, the D.P.O Oghara police division, the AIG and the Inspector General of Police for the enforcement of his fundamental right and fifty million naira only (50,000.00) for damages.

The case has been fixed for Tuesday 22/03/22 for hearing.
