Two allegedly shot, others wounded as violence erupts in Delta communities

Two persons have been reportely shot as violence erupted Ekiugbo and Oto-Iwhreko Communities in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta state.

It was learnt that the fracas which led to the violent shooting of rival communal youths, killed one and injured several several persons.

Congress Community Focus reports that the incident occurred on Thursday evening when the two Communities resumed fresh hostilities, causing pandemonium in the area.

The cause of the violence shooting is unknown at press time but source said it could be a premeditated clash.

It was gathered that the two Communities have previously engaged in communal war.

Congress recalled that Ughelli kingdom was observing its annual festival when the incident occurred.

The Delta State Police PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe, when contacted confirmed the incident. He said it was one person that was killed and not two.
