President, Joe Biden of the United States of America has announced a total ban of importation of Russian crude oil and gas into United States following the continued bombing of Ukraine by Russian military.

It was gathered that the US is one of the major buyers of Russian crude oil and other products of the country.

Biden announced the development in a post on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday.

He stated, “Today, I’m announcing that the United States is targeting a main artery of Russia’s economy. We are banning all imports of Russian oil and gas”.

It would be recalled that President Biden had during a video conference call on Monday sought the support of France, Germany and the United Kingdom to ban importation of Russian oil.

Congress learnt that despite calls to halt attack, the Russian military have refused to back down further attacks and killing of civilians in Ukraine.

Meantime, several countries including Nigeria have evacuated some of their citizens from Ukraine as Russian forces continued to wreak havoc in the country.
