Unease as Army Major allegedly commits suicide in Kaduna

A Nigerian Army Major (name withheld) allegedly shot himself dead at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) gate on Monday evening.

It was gathered the incident occurred on Monday when the Major shot himself after returning from exercise with cadets at the new site of the NDA.

According to a report by the Leadership newspaper, the Major shot himself in the head for reasons known to him.

Meantime, the cause of the incident is yet to be unravelled at the time of filing this report.

When contacted by the Public Relations Officer NDA by newsmen, Major Bashir Jajira, added he was not aware of any NDA personnel committing suicide.

He asserted that no personnel of the academy was involved in such an act.
