The Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF) has congratulated Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Governor of Imo State on his resounding victory and reelection as the Executive Governor of Imo State for another tenure of 4 years in the November 11th, 2023 Gubernatorial elections in Imo State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday the 12th of November declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent Governor of Imo State as the duly elected winner of the November 11th Governorship election in Imo State with 540,308 votes, followed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a paltry 71,503 votes.

In a press release signed and widely distributed to journalists in Kaduna by Abdulsalam Mohammed Kazeem, the National President of UNYF, a copy of which was sighted by our correspondents, the youth group described his victory as a big win for democracy and good governance not just in Imo State where the Governor-elect has come to personify excellent leadership but to the APC and Nigeria at large.

According to the statement, “Hope Uzodinma’s victory and reelection as the Executive Governor of Imo State has reaffirmed our position, and that of the good people of Imo State that he is indeed a great leader with a vision who has been divinely sent and inspired to deliver Imo State from backwardness and corruption into a haven of investments and progress. As progressive youths, we are proud to identify ourselves with this colossus”

While extolling the leadership traits and monumental landmarks of the Uzodinma’s administration in Imo State in the past four years, UNYF expressed confidence in his ability to even do more to place Imo State in a strategically competitive position that will rival even Lagos and Kano in terms of revenue and service delivery.

“One of the big achievements of Hope Uzodinma in the past four years in office was his determined crackdown on insecurity and criminality in Imo State. That boosted investors’ confidence in addition to massive infrastructural development and friendly laws that have come to guarantee safety and good returns on investments.”

He opined that”Imo remained the only State where the inhumane Monday sit-at-home policy of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was not operational. This is indeed what has earned him the people’s confidence and we are proud to identify and partner with him as he continues to deliver world-class governance to the Imo people.

“As one of the few APC governors in South Eastern Nigeria, Hope Uzodinma has continued to use his position and connections with the Federal Government to foster peace and development in Imo State and a region that was once known for insecurity and all forms of criminality.”
