War looms in Edo as Obaseki moves to impeach deputy, Shaibu

The rift between the executive governor of Edo state and his Deputy, has taken another dimension as Philip Shaibu dragged Obaseki to court seeking protection to avoid impeachment and removal from office.

According to a motion of notice brought before the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja obtained by Congress correspondence, the appellant seeked an order of interlocutory injunction, intimidating, embarrassing the applicant from carrying out the functions of his office as Deputy Governor of Edo State.

It was gathered that in the last few months,things had not been going well between the executive governor of Edo State and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu.

It was alleged that issues started between the two politician when the state governor saw his deputy with Adams Oshiomole, during inauguration of the National Assembly in Abuja.

It was reported that following the Abuja Inauguration, the state governor summoned all Edo state House of Assembly PDP members to his apartment, excluding the state Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu.

However, the meeting was reliably about allocating positions in preparation to ending Philip political career and ambition.

Amidst the silent war between Obaseki and his deputy, the former deputy governor, Mike Ogiadomhe and former chief judge had interfered by summoning the duo to broker peace.
