Coup: Niger Republic cuts ties with ECOWAS, US, Nigeria, France

As Peace Talk between the present Government of Niger Republic and Economic Community of West Africa States, ECOWAS, to resolve the ongoing impasse failed as Niger Republic cuts ties with Nigeria, United States, and neighbouring countries.

Recall, ECOWAS, headed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier issued seven day ultimatum for the reinstatement of President Bazoum, to avoid possible junta.

However, Nigeria president Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent delegation to the country to meet the coup leaders on Thursday, August 3.

Following the failed discussion, Niger Republic cut ties with Nigeria, Togo, France, its coloniser and United States.
