Warri Fed Constituency: W3 Unity Group emerges, Calls for Power Shift

A political parley by the three tribes in Warri federal constituency, under the branding of the W3 Unity Group, has insisted that power must rotate among the Itsekiris, Ijaw and the Urbobos that made up the constituency.

Arising from one day expanded meeting which was held on Friday 18th March, 2022, the coalition agreed that there was need to recognize the policy of rotation of power amongst the three major tribes in Delta South senatorial district.

W3 group stated: “that having regard to the record of past occupiers, it is only fair and equitable to allow an itsekiri man to occupy the senate in the next political dispensation.

The statement read partly:”that in view of the fact that there is a push for this changes, an Ijaw person be supported to represent the Warri Federal Constituency, in house of representatives.

“That the leadership of the three groups will work together to sustain the peace and development of old Warri Province”.

The statement urged, His Excellency, Sen Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to set in motion, a dialogue process that would ensure just representation of the ethnic groups of Warri in the Teo chambers of the National Assembly.

The W3 group also passed a vote of Confidence on the administration of His Excellency, senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive of Governor of Delta State.

However, the group resolved to follow political development in the State particularly, the interest of of the people of Warri which it represents.

“The W3 Unity Group wish to thank the Press and other critical stakeholders in the development of Warri and its environs”, they added.
